German Town (I never knew the name)

September 26th, 2008 · No Comments

Also taken on the cruise.

Anyway, it’s late and I should go to bed but I can’t because I have heartburn and I bought some Pepcid the other day at the store but I’m scared to take it because I don’t know if it’ll keep me up or whatever or how it will affect (effect? I always get those messed up) me, so I think I’ll wait ’til the weekend in case it screws up my sleep schedule. I’m such an old lady now. :) Also, I don’t want to turn off my computer yet because I bought the Colbie Callait CD from iTunes tonight and I’m listening to it and it is just absolutely fantastic. Janet and I were talking about how we like all her songs that are on the radio, and took a chance on her album and I am SO glad I did. It’s just beautiful and fantastic and even though I still have like 4 or 5 left to listen to, I already recommend it. :) Picture time:

Paris: the City of Love…

…And dirt, noise, pollution, and dirty Frenchmen who proposition you on the steps of the Basilica de Sacre Couer (a church!).

The Eiffel sure was pretty though.

german castle

September 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Taken from a river boat cruisin’ down the river. I would love this house (castle) but it looks a tad bit drafty.

OH! And! How ’bout them Heroes tonight? Wooo-eeee I was speechless. That show really is the bomb. And now I can’t wait for the Office on Thursday! :)

three pictures

September 14th, 2008 · No Comments

I was trying to decide which picture to post today and so I asked Allison and she couldn’t decide between three, so she told me to post all three. And because Allison is always right, I decided, “what the heck. why not?” So here you go, three unrelated pictures. One from France, one from Germany, and one from Ireland. I’m nothing if not democratic.

Yoga starts again tonight! I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve missed it and so has my spine. Yay!

thought for the day

September 12th, 2008 · No Comments

So I’m pretty sure the bathroom is the most embarrassing room in the house. I can tell myself until I’m blue in the face that I’m a clean person, but the moment there’s a house guest (or two) I’m all, “AH! I didn’t clean my bathroom!” I looked in the shower and it was clean, but there are just different eyes when someone else is using it. Thankfully, no hairs in the drain (I tend to shed a LOT when I wash my hair), and no weird ring or whatever. But think about it- it’s where you poop, it’s where you store things you don’t want other people to know about, it’s where you go when you’re dirty to come out clean. There’s bound to be some not-so-pristine-ness in there. Thankfully (again) mine isn’t bad. But still. I almost had a heart attack. Although mom would probably count that as a blessing, since when I was younger (and let’s be honest, a couple years into college) I couldn’t give a flying flip about the state of my house, much less my bathroom. Mostly, I owe Janet (former roommate) for a great big butt kicking that made me appreciate a clean house, even if I don’t always unload the dishwasher before I leave for work. So anyway. That was just my two cents. Next time, on thought for the day: why the heck am I afraid to poop around strangers?! Everybody poops, right?

And this picture has nothing to do with that, but in the words of my favorite photographers Bobbie+Mike what’s a post without a picture? Let’s continue with the Study Abroad pictures shall we? And since I enjoyed the last stained glass picture, let’s have another. :) The churches in Germany are just absolutely stunning. I couldn’t imagine creating art this beautiful.

In her debut performance

August 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments

So a lot has happened around these parts lately, and I have had neither the time nor the inclination to write most of it down here. But the short of it is that I have a job at the Eagle (it’s going well), and I’ve moved across town to live with my friends Allison and Dominic (her husband). It’s been fun so far, and not in the least because of their dog. Please allow me to humbly introduce you to the Madam Yogurta Bearwood (her Hollywood name). Here is a sample shot from her extensive portfolio:

She is a wonderfully talented dog, and loved and adored by fans the world over. What’s that you say? You want to see more? Well, alright. She is, afterall, in very high demand these days (people fight over who gets to wait on the Madam when her handlers [her humans, Allison and Dominic] go out of town). So without further ado, I present to you clear evidence of Madam Bearwood’s exceptional expressions of emotion.

I love Ms. Bearwood, and despite her troubled past (cruelly abandoned by her parents in the back of Dominic’s truck when she was just a wee pup), she has grown into a talented, graceful, and gorgeous young starlet. She’s the alpha female of Hollywood, and her reign has only just begun.

I miss you. I’m afraid that, while you’re down in Aussieland, living your wonderful, fast-paced, exciting, Spirited life, you’ll forget all about this lazy Texan who misses your heart at least being in the same state with her. Now you’re a world away, and my heart misses its friend. I love you, and I want you to be safe on the other side of the world where I can’t hug you, okay? Be safe, and when you come home in two years you better be in one piece. I can’t wait to see pictures, hear stories, cry with laughter.

Can we Skype again soon? It was good to see your face while we talked. Love you, friend. I have more respect for you than you know. Smoochieeez, phathead.
