Sometimes I like my job. Sometimes. Because sometimes, I get to do cool stuff. Like go out to the Riverside campus and shoot pictures of lab stuff (which was actually sort of lame, nothing blew up) and then walk over to the main building and look at the inert closet! What is the inert closet you say? Well I’m glad you asked! It’s freaking full of inert bombs, or bombs that are in no danger of going off, used for instructional purposes only. Sweet right? Let me introduce you!

The unexploded ordinance training we do where I work is the only one for civilians in the country, and we have the largest personal collection of inert ordinance in America. Neato, right? Lots and lots of permits. And proof of inert-ness (I think I just made that word up).

This is Ed. He is a freaking genius. Was in the military for years. Hires all his old buddies as instructors. Is slightly sexy in an “old man from the military” sort of way.
